When we gather with the intention of Village, the Village springs to life through us! Heart of the Village Paonia is teaming up with the Opaloka for a weekly offering.
Weavers Council is a space for community organizers, facilitators, creatives, & visionaries to share and support each other in our processes of weaving community and culture into being. Dress comfortably and bring a water bottle, snacks as needed. Also you may wish to bring show and tell items…
Mondays 6-8 PM through the end of June, come participate in this space held by Heart of the Village Paonia at the Opaloka, as a home for ancestral technologies of tending connection and purpose. Most anyone can participate in these without any training or prior experience, because we know them in our bones.
(Facilitated by Amber unless otherwise noted.)
First Mondays: Dance & Drum Journey
Second Mondays: Ash Circle
Third Mondays: Dance & Dream Share
Fourth Mondays: Weavers Council
Fifth Mondays: Wildcard (possibly with a guest facilitator)
Dance & Drum Journey will start with a shorter movement session set to music and transition into a meditative journey aided by shamanic drumming with intention to connect with a wisdom center in the body. Wear comfortable clothes for movement; bring a full water bottle and a journal and snacks if desired.
Ash Circle is a conflict resolution ritual in the style of an African (Dagara) ritual modeled by Sobonfu Somé. Healthy conflict can help us to avoid violence and can bring greater intimacy. This container can bring about profound shifts where energy is stuck. We will be guided to decide what to work with during the circle, either an interpersonal situation or one person’s inner conflict. Come with a conflict in mind or come as a witness. Ash Circles may be scheduled at other times as needed.
Dance & Dream Share will start with a shorter movement session set to music and transition into a dream sharing circle based on a simple, egalitarian format to witness and be curious about our sleeptime dreams. Wear comfortable clothes for movement; bring a full water bottle and a journal and snacks if desired.
Wildcard themes will be announced up to the week preceding the day. Possible themes include singing, dancing, storytelling, deep listening, creating rituals, sharing dreams, playing games, practicing divination, making offerings, connecting with nature & ancestors, tending grief, and gathering around a campfire (or a candle in the case of the Opaloka indoors).
The standard exchange for a weekly class/session at the Opaloka will be $16-20 for drop-ins. Attend your first Weavers Council for free; please RSVP to 970-623-6272 text or leave a message.
