A positive view on tariffs

Yes returning power local economies and the states! Hopefully this can lead to the end of the IRS and the income tax!

Back when Elon was pretty much universally worshiped by the left and the right as a technology and climate change messiah, I always thought it was a shame. Why is there just 1 of him? Why do so many people feel powerless to achieve greatness in their own lives? Why do people look at a person achieving greatness and all of the resulting responses are approval or disapproval of that person, but not a sense of possibility (or responsibility!) in their own lives?

We’ve become a vicarious culture, where we feel most alive when we’re looking at a video of someone else’s achievements.

I think we need to tell a different story about the world and our place in it. I think that human potential is the biggest untapped resource on the planet. And the failure to advance human potential is a consequence of our thinking and of the way we relate to ourselves and to one another.

It’s not about being Elon Musk. That’s Elon’s job. Your job is to be you. You know what’s great about that? No one can do it better. You are the only one of you. And no one knows what gifts you have in store for your friends, neighbors, and for humankind, until you reveal them.

I think that when we shift our perspective away from what is beyond our control, and towards our immediate circumstances and what we can do, this is the gateway to self esteem. When you witness yourself doing what you can, step by step, your confidence will grow. When you achieve greatness you will look back and see just a long series of footsteps. You did what you needed to, when you needed to. And that’s all anyone can ask of you.

As a strong :muscle:t4: advocate for Jeffersonian Agrarianism, this compels me!
Could this provide us a blueprint for a decentralized autonomy  ?!
Thanks :pray:t4: for the link Kiril!

I like the following definition as it describes what I believe is a blueprint for the antidote to centralized globalization,
“Jeffersonian agrarianism is a political philosophy associated with Thomas Jefferson that emphasizes the importance of agriculture, particularly family farming, as the foundation of a healthy republic. It advocates for political decentralization and views farmers as the most valuable citizens, promoting independence and virtue over urban industrialization.”

I’m including a link to a critique of its historic blowback, which I find perfectly valid. However, I’m still inclined to revisit J.A.’s virtues when reapplied to 21st century land stewardship, perhaps with the abolition of barbed wire, supplanted with ‘virtual fencing’, :bison: roamers gotta roam?! Are we able to reimagine a ‘Republican Commons’?!

Here’s that link :point_down:t4:

Yes I love this! Thomas Jefferson is my favorite of the founders. He was part of the anti-federalist…He believed that the federal government would became way to powerful! I believe he has been proven correct!
