Short Term Rentals: Strings Attached

From Paonia Girl:
Not sure why this is in the Latrine? Rosa Koire’s interview with the Huffington Post was interesting, timely and relevant. Her perspective breaks down the barriers of dreaded partisan politics and presents a valid case for what ALL Americans should be waking up to. For me, it parallels what is attempting to creep into our own backyard, with the Town of Paonia accepting a grant from the State for a Comprehensive Housing Study with “strings attached”! Requiring them to over regulate and restrict homeowners’ private property rights, over regulate and restrict homeowners’ private property rights, over a “manufactured problem”. The town of Paonia has less than 4% of our 60% Owner-Occupied housing units used as Short-Term Rentals- STR’s. Contrast this with 40% that are currently Long-term Rentals - LTR’s!
Heavy handed restriction and regulation results in NO new affordable housing units based on REAL data, yet they try to sell their actions under guise that it will. So you have to question, what is their real motive? It’s not about Paonia’s situation at all. It is pushing a State agenda, “the strings attached” or according to Koire, something even bigger…
My opinion only, of course, and it’s not lost on me that I am expressing this while already starting in latrine."

Agree, Paonia Girl… Rosa Koire’s words ring TRUE for 2025’s Town of Paonia!

This is a copy paste of something in the Latrine. Please don’t do that. You can link to things in the Latrine and add further commentary on it elsewhere if you wish. But there is no added commentary here.
