I’ve been on hiatus from this project.
-
I got anxious about my finances and wasn’t confident in my ability to take care of myself.
-
I was feeling a bit demoralized by encountering how indoctrinated people are… given a free and open space to express themselves, they do what they’ve been trained to do by social media, etc. Press the outrage button. Leap at emotional response. Blame their neighbors or “the other side” rather than “being the change you wish to see”. I’m guilty too. We all are.
-
Sensing that “the mission” of bringing people to a greater sense of autonomy needs to be carefully woven with the business model… we need sponsors not advertisers. And the sponsors need to understand and back the mission.
I think what needs to happen at this stage with the County Fence is:
Get a core group of educators, let’s say 12, who are committed to teaching autonomy in various areas of life. This could be:
- food growing
- food preparation
- herbs, medicine, home remedies
- qigong, yoga, exercise, sunlight, nature
- how to run a business
- how to be self-custodial with crypto, silver, etc.
By supporting these educators and helping them develop curriculum and reach a market with their offerings, we will build the core culture of the County Fence, rather than letting it drift into ambiguity or polarity. What forms of support can we offer to educators?
- County Fence Podcast: highlighting success stories, upcoming events, courses, and workshops
- County Fence: we will publish the print copy and distribute it to local towns, promoting our educators
- County Fence: course enrollment and paid member-only areas
- in person Idea Labs where educators will be invited, and where the focus is “aspirations and accountability” and we can seek to understand how to support each other
Then this will lend itself to sponsorships, because we will have a clear purpose that’s being demonstrated by our actions.
- What should the pricing be for this level of support to our educators?
- What else is missing that will help our educators be successful?
- What do we need to communicate to sponsors so that they understand and support the mission?
- How do I keep the wheels on this bus in terms of sufficient financial and emotional reward that it’s worth it for me to continue? Any advice from someone who has started a company or non profit? What are the little wins that kept you going?
- Do you want to be an educator on the platform?
- Do you want to be a mentor or advisor helping us understand how to navigate?
- What’s your dream for what is possible when community connects, transcends old ways of thinking, and begins to envision a future worth waking up to? A future we can offer to our children in kindness and care…
