About the Role

We’re looking for a Business Ambassador with deep roots in the North Fork Valley—someone who thrives on relationships, is naturally curious about what makes local organizations tick, and sees opportunity in conversation. You are a connector, and you know who we should talk to to build alliances for mutual benefit.

We’re looking for someone who can approach new partners with invitation, listening, and collaboration. Your job isn’t to push products. It’s to find alignment between what we offer and what our partners need—then hand off the technical bits to our Automation Specialist so they’re up and running with minimal effort.

What You’ll Do

  • Reach out to local orgs: Chambers of Commerce, Rotary/Elks Clubs, business directories, etc.
  • Encourage use of The County Fence (see Getting Started to understand what we offer)
  • Propose partnerships that could include:
    • Promoting local businesses, events, and community
    • Offering our automation tools to import Google calendars, business websites, or Facebook pages
    • Encouraging organizations to send their press releases to stories@countyfence.org
  • Look for mutual wins, including paid engagements or sponsorships for us
  • Track relationships, follow up, and make sure our partners are thriving
  • Inform the team of tools or features we can build that will create new business models for us

About You

  • You live in and have deep ties in the North Fork Valley
  • You’re a great listener and a generous connector
  • You’re energized by one-on-one conversations and love meeting new people
  • You enjoy helping people see the value in something without “selling” it
  • You’re motivated by long-term relationships, not quick wins
  • You have some business background and can empathize with an business owner’s priorities and sensibilities

You’ll be backed up by a technical specialist who handles setup and integration. You don’t need to have technical expertise, but you do need to be patient and understanding when working with our technical team.

Compensation

  • Base salary plus graduated commission on active paid partnerships
  • Commission model designed to reward depth over volume

  • This is a full-time role based in the North Fork; regional Ambassador roles may follow as we expand
